One-step procedure, from sample to results

TNA-Cifer Reagent E is our sample preparation reagent enabling the effective preparation of biological samples for total nucleic acid testing, while providing accurate results in as little as 5 to 10 minutes.

This novel BioCifer developed reagent streamlines test sample processing by reducing the time and complexity of sample processing. Using our novel reagent, samples only need to be incubated for 5 to 10 minutes in a single step procedure, rather than the standard 40 minutes complex, multi-step procedure. Our novel reagent has been show to perform identically to the complex processing procedure.

Fast one-step procedure

The raw biological samples (eg, blood, tissue, nasal swabs or mosquitoes) is mixed with the TNA-Cifer Reagent E.

A proprietary five minute extraction protocol releases the sample’s nucleic acid material into the BioCifer reagent solution.

A chemical reaction is triggered that rapidly amplifies DNA to detectable levels. Sample is ready for downstream molecular testing.

No complex laboratory equipment is required for sample processing, allowing tests to easily be performed in virtually any setting.

The reagent has been used to enable fast and simple sample preparation for detection of a range of different pathogens and diseases, including Malaria (caused by Plasmodium sp. parasites), COVID-19 (caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus), Dengue virus, Prawn hepatopancreatic parvovirus, and Wolbachia sp. bacteria.
