With a strong background in microbiology and molecular assay development, Genevieve is BioCifer’s Product Development Scientist. She leads the development of rapid, on-site molecular tests for animal health, including assays for Salmonella in piggeries and Equine Strangles, while also assessing new opportunities to expand BioCifer’s diagnostic portfolio.
Genevieve brings over a decade of research experience spanning diagnostics, biomaterials, and data analytics. During her PhD at the University of the Sunshine Coast, she developed malaria field diagnostics up to 14 times more sensitive than existing field tests and analysed national surveillance data to guide malaria control strategies in the Solomon Islands. She has presented her work internationally and published across malaria research, infectious diseases, and biomaterials.
Passionate about translating scientific innovation into real-world applications, Genevieve focuses on advancing diagnostic tools that save human lives, improve animal health, strengthen biosecurity, and create value for agriculture.
